Milou-dH I think I know what you mean, and this is not targeted at you specifically, but it generally irks me when people say that truth and facts are somehow as subjective as opinions and it all is a matter of agreeing or disagreeing. No, thats not how it works, you can‘t „disagree“ with an objective truth, no matter how hard you try to frame it as your personal opinion. Thats how these social media bubbles form where everyone is just trying reaffirm their previously held believes, even if they have to ignore a hundred studies that disagree with them until they find a single one that doesn’t. Facts get ripped out of contexts, twisted and misinterpreted or are just simply made up - a breeding ground for any kind of extremism, be that the current anti-vaxx crowd, climate change denial, political tribalism, racism etc.
Facts DO matter, very much more so than opinions when it comes to certain topics, though opinions are much more interesting when it comes to food, music etc.
Now I admit it is not always self evident in complex matters (Do Humans cause climate change?) to determine what can be considered true (enough) and what not. It takes some effort to really dig into it (Was this study independently funded? Could there be any selection bias in the data? etc.), but everyone these days has the entire human knowledge at their fingertips, so I can only encourage to try and think critically.
Sorry, that was a bit off-topic.
