However,I'm not sure new people would think about filling it,and they would not necessarily think about looking to each people about these descriptions.

I like the idea of an introduction topic,and another one to talk,until the new members here answers in the different topics here,as Raziel suggested.

at least for me this was not the main idea, for me the main idea was that new users can see with whom they write. so that the regular users write here information about themselves so that new users know who we are. i noticed this because here i often get questions from new users which i have already answered several times

I think if we introduce direct message feature here, it would be of great help to everyone because the only way to talk to someone personally is by getting their email, then deleting the post containing their email address, then contacting them. But if we introduce direct messaging, all this problem would be solved. This is just a suggestion, please don't do it if it requires a lot of work because I think @Laura, you do this as a hobby. So if the idea is hard to implement, I'm sorry for my suggestion

It will also attract perverts who are not able share their ideas publicly, but like to annoy with private messages. And we saw few of them already, who disappeared quickly once they found no PMs here at all.

Right, I would like to see an active forum with relevant public content, rather than a dead-looking forum where users talk privately.

And thats the point why I love this forum. You can read so much new every day without being in a special group or something. This forum is perfect!

not only sometimes but very often, I think that not sending private messages is one of the main reasons why the forum is much more serious than many others
