Sorry to tell you, this type of cable belts are only for short use, not 24/7.
The cables will digs into the skin and make a lot more harm then a wider belt waistband.

Tobbe That sounds worrying. I'm not going to make my daughter wear the belt if it ends up becoming painful. A wide waistband would be much easier to notice though, and I want her to wear the belt without having to constantly worry about it. That's why I bought a cable belt.

I'm surprised that there are no other "minimalistic" belts. For a teen, a wide metal waistband would be completely unnecessary and could be replaced with thick non-stretchable cloth. With the shield in place - it would be an undetectable chastity belt.

I think most of your problems are in a miss conception. I mean, a "normal" chastity belt is easily discrete with adequate clothes, and I am a girl quite "standard" and I am not talking about wear a burkha.
About safety, this has to be in first place with the comfort, I mean, if a belt is comfortable but it is not safe... What is the point of wear it?
If your girl agree with wear a belt, ask her what she expect, and then act.
And about your desires the belt does not interfere in her daily life, well she will have to adapt... And you too. It is the beginning of a dependence and deep trust relationship, if you does not want to be there to release belt or bands when your daughter need, then think another thing.
Chastity belts of close and forget do not exist in real life.
