A father who wishes to lock up his sons is really the rarest of rarities in the world as it exists today.
According to the hypocritical “morality” of the 1950s (the “double standard “), a young man was expected to “sow his wild oats”, while a young lady was supposed to remain a virgin until marriage.
The view was expressed on another forum that more young men are at risk for being locked in chastity today because more of them are growing up in single-parent, female-led households, I.e., that the father would normally be expected to veto the idea in the context of a two-parent household even if the mother were inclined in that direction.
Since discovering this forum in January, I have several times wondered if my own father might have been harboring some repressed homoerotic desire to lock his two sons in chastity belts.
