Jen Well, I only got my drivers license at 25 or so, when I didn't live at my parents anymore, and I paid for it myself. So no presents for me either, but I think with friends getting it at 18/19 there was usually something.
But if they allow you to use one of their cars, that would also be a sort of present. Did they say anything about that, and if they will let you take off in it alone, or they want to be present for the time?
(That of course is different than here, since your parents already know how you drive, while here, with all lessons only with instructors, they usually have not seen anything before the license.)
