Angelina real name. She does have a couple of friends who call her Goody because theatre people tend to do that when they’ve spent several months together rehearsing and performing a role!

As far as I understood, you can't get a copyright for a band name, but you can register it as a trademark. Admittedly, the difference is far from obvious IMO since both terms seem to be commonly used in close proximity.

I'd consider myself far from being an expert in intangible property rights, though. Not the most exciting topics, IMO, but I am quite sure a substantial number of people in the world see it differently. Probably that's why they became lawyers etc.

I don't know which part of the country you live in or if you've ever heard of Kentuckian singer-songwriter John Prine, but he told a similar joke once in an interview. The host asked Prine how he started playing the guitar, and Prine talked about the sorts of instruments his siblings played, and how they taught him. Then the host kinda expected Prine's dad to know how to play music. Prine said no, but he played the radio sometimes and we listened to the Grand Ole Opry together in the kitchen.

Wonder if I can get some opinions from folks in other countries, primarily Europe, I guess. In ten days is the Boston Marathon road race, a very big deal where I live. They have just announced that no one who lives in Russia or Belarus will be allowed to run, tho people from those countries who live elsewhere, e.g. students who live in the US, will be allowed to run. I wonder about this. I see the gesture, but ordinary folks who live in Russia and Belarus generally have no more say in what's going on in the Ukraine than I do. What do folks think. My interest is only because I am a runner.

Avery I think you're right. It's not directly the fault of the citizens there. Though they could do more about it ... like a revolution ... but many of them don't even know about the war because there's only state run media and no internet connection to western countries. And some even support it, probably a result of the state run media brainwashing them... still, they should knpw that massacres like that are not ok. difficult situation, all in all

i agree with you and frankly i have already been very angry about it. the athletes can't do anything about what Putin is doing and in my opinion they should be allowed to compete. sport is supposed to help overcome rifts, then a sign (for the cohesion of society) should be set there.

They elected him and also approved the constitutional amendment so that he can be in office again. In my opinion, they are also partly to blame and must now bear the consequences.
There are certainly some who are against him, but it is not possible to please everyone.
On the other hand, this kind of action is a way to show them that what is happening in Ukraine is not okay. Maybe they will think about it when it is done by many countries.

two comments on this. firstly, not every russian voted for putin, so not everyone can be responsible. and secondly, if olaf scholz attacks austria tomorrow, no one can be blamed but himself. not even those who voted for him

78% voted for the amendment of the constitution. Since decisions can never be fair to all, a general responsibility is justified in the context of war crimes and the consent of the Russian population to the war.

If he were to give the order to attack, it would be the responsibility of the army not to follow this order, as there is obviously no reason and it would be against the German constitution.

If the army were to follow the order, it would be the responsibility of each individual to take action against this act of war within the limits of his possibilities. If he does nothing, he is also guilty.

I would love to see just 1 famous man attack a country by screaming and running with a flag and everyone just politely ignoring him.
Like on the internet my husband makes fun of Alex Jones and if he had one of his snake flags and the tin foil hat and ran into Canada or somewhere like that screaming and they all just let him keep running until he got tired and had to rest...

Yes people who speak out are hurt very badly or killed. I don't know why any of them do it at all.
So the number can't really be 77% if they are intimidated.

It doesn't matter if it the real number or not. Official their is no broad protest against the war and this make it reasonable to decide that people from Russia can not join the marathon.
Beside of the number where would you draw the line? 80%, 85%, 90%, 95%, 99% or 99,999%? Their will always someone who may innocent.

But keep in mind life was never fair nor will it be fair.

The war and the many deaths are something so bad that in my eyes an unfair decision against a few athletes is nothing against it. To allow a sporting event to continue as if the war and the mass killing of civilians did not exist would be a travesty.
