I think too hip-style ones are better to wear,especially as these are easier to hide,and so,allow us to wear more different clothes than with waist-style ones.

well it's more of a theoretical question because my dad only allows the waist style belt, but what is your physique. i am very thin and have pointed hip bones

I wear a hip belt design and to me it is better than waist design: more hideable under clothes and less restrictive. I can wear all I want, it is not detectable. It doesnt move, it sits tightly on the bones and so it is very secure. It cannot slip down because it tightens the hips and the cable between the buttocks forbidds the belt to move upward.
