i don't have any weight fluctuations, but i'm generally quite thin and i'm afraid the hipstyle belt would press too much on my bones, which could cause pain if i wear it for a longer period of time.

I can do that, but any belt should be tight (not too tight, of course) to be secure.

we tested it with a tape measure, took the whole thing by feel and then read off the measurements.

Please do not forget to let your daughter lie down and bend her legs. Then check if she can get her fingers below the front shield. The belt should be tight enough to protect her even in this unusual position.

A belt needs to be tight to be secure. I was thinking mine was secure, until I managed to cheat.
We had to sent it back to the manufacturer to tighten it. Now my belt is VERY tight and then I cannot cheat. And it is not excluded that I will get a new belt, tighter, in the next year.
It's a pity but real: tight is right.
