OMG I have to correct this quickly. I was in the shower with the belt, so of course my dad wasn't in the bathroom, I was just shaving her, not the other way around. !!!!

I know some places in Europe seem to have a more liberal approach to getting naked... like in saunas and spas in Scandinavia, or at the beach in Croatia. Australia is quite conservative in comparison, we don't even get out tops off at the beach.

I'm just utterly bewildered by this whole concept. I would claw my dad's eyeballs out if he tried to walk into the bathroom when I was I there. They haven't seen me naked since I was old enough to dress myself, and I sure as hell don't want to see either of my parents with their bits out.

Angelina no I wasn't being sarcastic, I was just trying to get my head around how it works. That's why I brought up the spa / sauna situation in Scandinavia as an example... I thought maybe it was just something that families did together in your part of the world.

In Japan for example, you have to be completely naked to go to an onsen, and it's quite normal to bathe naked with others.

The fact that it IS considered weird in Germany makes this situation even more creepy. So what, he just stands there and watches you like a voyeur? That's worse! I would have been okay with it if public bathing was a German tradition.

something like that, yes. most of the time he sits on the toilet lid and looks alternately at me and at his smartphone. i don't feel too pressured that way, but it's enough to keep me from trying to cheat.

sometimes i use DeepL but frankly, many translations are so bad that it's better if i write from my head and translate single words at most
