Could someone explain what a "blocking piece" is? I see it mentioned in many threads, but I haven't found an explanation. I have figured out that it has something to do with thigh bands, and that it is unpleasant.

However, I have not been able to find anything by that name on the manufacturer sites and when I do web searches I mostly get links back to this forum.

MissBlossom A "block piece" is a solid piece of metal (imagine a metal bolt) that goes through the inner/medial attachment rings on thighbands. Unlike a chain (with a few cms of slack), or even a directly attached lock ( with two sides of the shackle giving a cm or two of movement), a block piece forces the attachment rings to overlap with absolutely no slack between the bands. For those that have two inner rings on each thighband, when threaded through all four rings, the bands are essentially welded together, with only one ring on each band a bit of pivoting is still possible.

Everyone here who has worn one seems to find it incredibly constricting and overkill for preventing the things thighbands are designed to prevent. If worn, it is usually at night and as a punishment.

I guess that depends on what you mean by "safe." To me it seems like a death trap if there's a fire or an earthquake or a tornado or whatever other disasters your area is prone to.

Being able to find your tamper evident emergency key, break it open, open locks, and remove them, in the dark, while still waking up, choking on smoke, and with very little time to spare, doesn't seem like something a person should have to be able to do to stay alive.

I try not to judge anything other people do consensually, but I sure hope they think through the risks.

It is an American mentality. 🤭
Anything of all that is common or probable in West Europe.
However you are right and emergency keys are mandatory.
Fortunately I do not use them usually.

6 cm is peeerfect! Please take it coming of a girl that have 6 cm chain, 4 cm chain and a block piece.
6 cm is nothing to complain about it.

From my perspective, the safety of one's life is more important than protection from cheating the belt, but I'm married so my experience is different from that of many others here.

My perspective also comes from internalizing my husband's values. He always puts safety first. He won't restrain me or beat me if he's even possibly impaired. If he's had any amount of alcohol, it's off the table. He wants his perception and judgment in top form when my safety is dependent upon him, and he wants to be able to drive to the hospital if something goes wrong.

His approach may seem excessive or paranoid but it really makes me feel safe, and it's a big part of how over time we stopped discussing what we're going to do ahead of time. Ultimately I knew in my bones that I could just let him do whatever he wanted to and it would always be fine (and usually great! lol).

Ines 6 cm is nothing to complain about it.

From day to day its also better like with the belt itself. I just need a little bit to get used to all the restrictions.

It's unfortunately a thing that you never get completely used to. I have worn the bands almost 24/7 for multiple years now, and still have some occasional problems

For the records: I'd like to note that (allegedly) there are several users who combine stricter chastity - such as extended thigh band usage - with a loving and caring relationship and environment. (Examples that immediately come into my mind would be @Foxies and her Partner, or ofc certain Spanish Users ;-))

Yet, I believe that I understand what you meant to say, and offering additional support is almost always a nice thing. Hope we can make you (and any other legitimate user) feel adequately welcome.
