@Ines might be describing embarrassment. There are many things we are not ashamed of that we keep to ourselves, and try not to reveal to those who wouldn't understand or who have no business knowing.

a little tip for all of you who are new to wearing thighbands. i would recommend to wear a lot of jewellery if possible, so that noises don't stand out too much and you have an excuse. 😉

i'm not sure exactly what material it is, but my dad wrapped the rubber from an old water hose around the chain. it was thin enough, flexible enough and made almost no noise afterwards. 🙂

Sorry, it is in German but you can translate the side with deepl.com or Google.
Chain by itself make noise but a steel cable only of it knocks on other things like bands or the lock. The cables are available in defined length. If you use it a loop through the D-ring on your shield and lock both loops on one band 30 or 35 cm could work out well. Also the lock would not under your shield if you need to go to the toiled with the CB.

Cable is a bad option. Steel cable tends to recover its shape and push in the legs, you have to make a permanent effort against it. Not much, but anti natural.
