Like I said, I'm not sure it is fair that I feel this way about your first post, because there are other similar topics, like those about South-Africa and Germany. I don't even read those, but from what little I have seen, I think I'd prefer if those were also removed or archived.
In my view this forum should be a safe and welcoming place for vulnerable people who need support or have serious questions, and any polarization (or unrespectful behavior) will not help. Of course we can't totally avoid polarization and topics that people feel strongly about, like religious reasons to keep chaste, but let's try to keep it to a minimum and contained to on-topic issues. There are plenty of places more suitable for discussions about politics etc.
What I don't understand is, if you complain about "unlimited free rein to torture us with his views", why you even want to create a new topic that could easily end up being more of that.
Perhaps you had a different intention with this topic, and your first quote chosen just happened to be political, but it might very well set the tone of this topic.
