Is the man who wears a chastity belt a transvestite?

I’m not going to vote on this one, at least not yet. I’m just putting the topic out there for discussion.

“Transvestite” is, I suppose, a somewhat out-of-date and pejorative term. The male who wears traditionally female attire would probably be described as “non-binary” in today’s lingo.

I should like to add that transvestites don’t seem to get a lot of love from the LGBTQ+ people. Apparently if you’re traveling to the other side merelyas a tourist, with no desire to emigrate, you’re not deemed worthy of inclusion in their tribe.

Back in the late nineties on Altairboy’s website, we had a document called “Reasons why people wear chastity belts”. The document was a collaborative effort, and some parts were contributed by yours truly. One of the reasons, which I believe was my own contribution, was “to get in touch with one’s feminine side.” To that I would like to add, “I wear my belt in solidarity with the historic oppression of women.”

I'd say no, but having read this forum I think I understand why you ask it.

It seems that some people buying CBs have strong ideas about gender roles. Women seem to be thought of as beautiful flowers whose job it is to attract and select a mate. The men appear to be viewed as busy bees, whose role is to visit the followers until one accepts him.

In this view of sexual affairs, (that young'uns might find archaic), the CB wearing female raises the bar and aids selectivity: only the most dedicated, persistent, and pure of heart male will get through. Conversely, if you fit a belt onto a male, you make him more female, because he can no longer "play the field" as is expected of him in this world view.

i don't think there is a direct connection. it's like rectangles and squares. every square is a rectangle, but not vice versa. that's exactly how it is here. there are many transvestites who wear a chastity belt, also because of sexual irritations, but not everyone who wears a chastity belt is a transvestite.

I would not say a chastity device, even a belt, is inherently feminine unless it is designed to be so. That said, there are plenty of feminine belts designed for people with penises, and while some trans- and non-binary people swear by them, crossdressers are probably the largest market for them.

There are also wearers who are not wearing feminine belts to play with gender stereotypes, but for humiliation. Which at least to me seems somewhat awkward from a gender equality or trans rights standpoint.

But plenty of male wearers do not think the device (belt or not) takes away from their masculinity, and some of the male belts out there (think Walter Goethals or Behind Barz) have some rather masculine designs. That said, those masculine designs tend to be most popular among gay men.

I believe it's a question of the perspective. Twenty or thirty years ago men wore pants and women wore dresses or skirts, but never ever pants. Today, it's totally fine for a women to wear pants.
From middle age till probably twenty or thirty years ago women wore chastity belts while men didn't. Today it's totally fine for both to wear belts or cages.
The history of pants for women is a very good comparision. Because both have changed in the same way and both had a good reason for their original group of people who wear it. For the pants it's been that pants made it easier to hunt and work with them, for women, as they didn't work on construction sides back then, there was no reason for it as to demonstrate feminism.
But things changed. Through the invention of the bicycle women started to wear pants and discuvered their advantages.
Since men figured out how protected, cared about, safe and happy it makes us feel the belts and cages became popular among men. Chastity became thereby popular among the bdsm community thereby what resulted in a generally growing interrest of men for belts.

Sure, there are also belts like mine that also cover the testicles but don't have a very construction site look-like style like the behind barz, but the prejudice that all men are hard guys working in such rural jobs is rubbish. There are many men who also work in highly qualified jobs like Managers or Medicins... they also don't walk around in tank tops with sandals and constantly smell like beer. They just are somewhat more elegant in their mind, character, being and style. So why may a chastkt, belt for men not also have an elegant fluently shaped design.

Yes and if a man had to wear a chastity like soldiers in the future or truck drivers or something, then it shouldn't be the same as our belts and definitely shouldn't be those ball ring types.
Maybe men would have piercings and when they are back from a business trip they will be sensitive or something like that...
But hopefully it isn't required to prevent rapes hopefully its just something that some of you want to practice for a season or a trip.

i don't think it should be used against typical rapist groups, this could lead to them getting so angry instead of raping the women that they kill the women directly.
