We are taught to be gentle and indirect and to say things like "we could do this" or "that is an option" instead of "I would prefer this" or "I want that." This is fine for getting along in groups and decisions that don't really matter, but for something that is this personal and impactful, it may be worth pressing her on what would actually be her favorite approach.

This will not happen. Thinking things through ahead of time is good, and I applaud you for your thoroughness, but you should expect there to be surprises and situations you didn't think of and judgement calls that you didn't plan for.

Try not to be too disappointed when something comes up that you have to figure out on the fly. That said, based on what you've said so far, I'm sure you will be thoughtful and compassionate when the time comes.

But we are going through as many likely scenarios as possible. Which I believe is progressing well, and with her goals being so clear I don’t think those scenarios will be hard to solve.

I think by asking this you were wondering if it might be some sort of offer to act in a misguided solidarity with you, but in rereading your posts another possibility occurred to me.

She may be seeing how well it works for you and wanting something like that for herself, feeling something like envy, but not in a mean way.

So she could be bringing this up because of your restrictions, but in a good way, because they inspire her. You may want to ask her about this if the question still bothers you.

MissBlossom Those are two of the possibilities that came to mind when I thought of the question. We haven't quite gotten to that part yet, but I suspect it's the latter if anything. Seeing what it has done to correct her harlot of a daughters behavior. It may be nothing deeper then a simple fail-safe, which is rather effective.
Though that's just speculation on my part at this point.
To answer your previous question though, now that I have more information. Her preferred option is a hip style belt worn only for a date. Which is when the possibility of impromptu dates/after work outings occurred to me. My counter idea was an waist style belt (for comfort) worn all the time, but with open access to the keys that I'm holding. Which she countered with being allowed to have the secondary shield keys in her possession.
That is our current state of the discussion, and she is thinking on it for a day or so.
@Angelina Yes I have no doubt in my mind that mom could handle this on her own without wearing a belt. The reasoning she has shared with me so far though is that first it's symbolic. That she is committed to no sex before marriage. But that it is also a fail-safe. So that if a date got to pushy, she drinks to much, moment of weakness, etc nothing but a bit of embarrassment can happen. It's possible there are others since she brought this up herself, but I don't know what they might be just yet.
Considering those are her reasons, and it wouldn't be used to restrict anything else for her, I can't see a problem since she's wanting to.
I'm hesitant though since I don't know all the details or have answers to the most realistic or relevant questions yet.
