When I've seen this happen without chastity (I think), it usually ends in one of two ways.
The husband gives in. At first the wife likes this, but then she loses interest, since now he seems weak, and she divorces him.
Or, the husband does not give in. He can't live in a loveless marriage, so he either divorces her or he has an affair and she divorces him.
I tell this to young women at church when they tell me about their marriage problems. Sometimes they listen and stay married.
