The latter use appears in the sources only at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. At the same time, chastity belts began to become an increasingly popular fetish, present in literature and later in erotic photography. In the 19th century comes the prevention of masturbation and the incredible popularity of chastity belts. It seems, however, that in many cases the fight against masturbation was only a pretext for their perverse use. When the concept of fighting masturbation is rejected in the first half of the 20th century, chastity belts remain mainly a fetish toy, so you can say that history has come full circle.
