Depends on where she lives.
If she lives in our part of the world, our principles apply.
But if she lives in a part of the world where the rules are different, I have to accept that their society has the right to make rules I might not like and that as part of that society she is bound by those rules.
If for example you smuggle drugs in Germany, you will get some years in prison. If you do the same thing in Singapore it is the death penalty instead. Their society, their laws. I have no right to demand they change just because I consider it wrong. All I can do is make a decision not to travel to or live in places where I don't like the rules.
