The problem you do not realise:
You make nothing better but everything worse.
Look at places like Afghanistan. You try to fight for the freedom of women in that country. Fine. But by doing so, you actually interfere in their internal affairs. As a result, you will now be perceived as the enemy of those who want their traditional ways. So now the struggle is no longer one internal to the society in Afghanistan but becomes one between western countries and Afghanistan. Now you send the US and other countries military power and of course a poor country like Afghanistan can never win an open war. So what they do is fight back with whatever means they have - which is unfortunately then things like terror attacks in European countries.
And once you stop your military presence, Afghanistan reverted back to the old Taliban ways anyhow. So did you actually make anything better? No. All you did was make the world overall less save.
You are just young and naive when you think that you can make this world a better place when you try to enforce your superior moral standards on everyone else. History is rich with examples how this fails again and again.
And your example about your country is actually wrong, because the USSR finally broke down internally and not because western countries had active war and forced the USSR to change.
Want another example? Why do you think there is such a conflict in the US about the rights of black people and we do not have the same magnitude of the problem here in Europe?`
In US history there was one event about slavery - the civil war. In this war the South was forced to abandon slavery and follow the rules set by the North. But did that make people in the South better? Did they actually valued the life of a black person suddenly equal to that of a white person? Of course not - and you can see exactly that attitude day in and day out in the US. True and lasting change has to come from within. It must come from changing the way people think, the values people have. That is a lengthy process, painfully lenghthy often and of course you would prefer a quick and easy solution, but such a solution does not exist.
