Being a family tradition, all this is seeming very strange to me. In my case, with obvious differences the experiences are pretty similar between everyone of us, and my mother had a lot of same experiences than me, my sisters or her sister.
How can not your mother to know about belt fitting problems?
And about "pleasure breaks", at least for me are impossible. I can stop wearing the belt, but if I wear it, is for a reason that excludes such attitudes.
