A suggestion:

One convenient aspect to this forum is the "Like" feature. Might I therefore humbly suggest a similar "Dislike" feature? Besides being amusing 😂 , it might also give a clue as to how many actually read a post and it could perhaps lead to reduction in harsh or impolite posts.

What do you think? is it possible?

even if it is possible, i would strongly advise against it, you write that we can see how many people read a post. i read all posts but very rarely use the like function, most of the time i at least write a short reply when i like something 🙂

that could also be, of course, if I saw that someone didn't like what I was writing, I would like to know why that person didn't like it.

An option is always to try it and see (if it is possible). If the consequences were indeed negative, surely it would then be just as easy to remove? Speculation is fine, but data is better!

I do use the "Like" button and see it as offering support for a particular point of view. A Dislike feature would be the converse.
While I do see your point, I do wonder whether and "Agree" and "Disagree" feature might be more acceptable to you?

But in any case I am over this. It's not so important and am perfectly willing to concede and lose gracefully 🤣

i admit i sometimes don't even look to see if someone has given me a like, most of the time i just look to see if someone has replied to me
