I can understand,even if I don't share,your arguments,especially as you've explained your feelings about the chastity belt.And yes,it won't help you to have these feelings with an abstinence belt.

However,it can be used too,to prevent her to have sex,but offering her a way to relieve too strong urges;in such case,it is not a mistrust tool,but a gift,letting her deal with her needs,while not having sex.

Obviously I do not meet you father and but, since he thinks that a girl should not touch herself, I think he would not accept less than a chastity belt. Another thing is what are you ready to accept, but I think he will be inflexible in this point.
Probably most of our parents trust in we, and they know that we are not sluts and that we will never accept to have sex out of marriage, but self pleasure is another thing.
I think I could not wear an abstinence belt, and further, I would not never accept it for my daughters.

And, in general, I was always protected when I needed that protection.
