Measurement kit, I think is just provided for MySteel, and, specially for new people is a good choice since it is very easy of use and brings instructions.
I think, it is advisable.

I guess a measurement kit would make it easier,but it is possible to take the measures without it;double-checking the measures or more is better if done without the measurement kit,too.

I think that taking measures is not what can scare her. Specially if you do not have anyone in your home with chastity experience, you should buy that kit.
A not accurate measurement will drive to:
-bruising in the skin

pain in bones
pinches
unsafe belt in general
bitter daughter.
Take measures as you want, but take care to make of the belt a second skin, as say @Megan

HHelen I hope you have read what I wrote in your other thread (belt for 16 year old daughter). Don't do it at all. It may destroy your relationship. Talk to her, but a belt doesn't solve the problem. It makes it worse. Don't forget, it's her private area, not yours.
