My one had to be a Total, since I have occasional weight fluctuations. An adjustable front shield is definitely required.

I asked my daughter to lie down and bend her legs, as you said - the shield loosens slightly, but even at its most loose it's not possible to get under the shield, fortunately. Anyway, thanks for the heads up

I think Angelina have right. If adjusted properly, both will protect equally well. The advantage of TOTAL is that it is also possible to adjust in the crotch part. An advantage if the weight varies greatly. Otherwise just a padlock that bulge out.
