Angelina I have been several times for longer periods in Australia.
The wildness can be around the corner or under you house.
If you want to see Wombats, Kangaroos, Koalas, etc, go to animal park. Is the best change to see most of them in a short time.
Easy to see are possums, spiders, flying foxes at the right locations. Box Jellyfish and sharks is the best you never see them in the wild. Better at the aquarium.
One time I was working at the roof and I checked the connection box of an antenna with a spanner. A spider with white back came out and and I crushed it. Later I told the owner about the spider and they asked me what I did. I crushed it. "Good" was the response.
It can be dangerous everywhere but if you aware of it it is not a big problem. Like moving in traffic. It can be deadly if you are careless.

Most people die from dehydration. Not from wild animals or bush fires.
