my old laptop broke down today, or rather my operating system no longer loads. i'll try to save my data over the next few days, maybe i can connect the two laptops. anyway, i'm now online with my new laptop so don't be surprised at the admins

Good you get a new one quickly.

For the old one,when you've saved all your data(booting on an external device can allow you to access your data),if the OS is the problem,you can try to format your hard disk and reinstall Windows.As you got a new one,not necessary to fix the old one,but it can be useful to have two computers working,in case the main one has a problem.

Angelina You can doublicate your hard drive and update it to win 10 then. It's anyway a lot better then win7 or won xp.... I just miss Win8 ... did really like it ... however...

depending on the problem. If it's a virus I would reinstall the os, if it's just and old disk that's about to die I would clone it and ungrade the os for free. If upgrade wasn't for free I would just copy the data.

She might also so a soft reinstallation where the os only gets repaired and resetted but the user data and apps stay on the disk

very brief update from my side

i'm going back to school next week, so camryn will be moving out of my house after more than 2 months. she doesn't have any presence classes yet, but it's too complicated to organise. i don't have all classes in presence yet (but over 70%), so i can still spend a lot of time with camryn and we spend the weekends together anyway.
