i had my second driving lesson yesterday and yes i can say i'm making good progress. i have two double lessons planned for next week, i have to hurry because i don't know how long the driving schools in our area will be open (unfortunately our corona numbers are rising again)

Angelina a short update, i only had 2 hours of school today, after that i had my first practical driving lesson today 😃 sitting behind a steering wheel for the first time was exciting but also exhausting. however, the starting has already worked out well and my driving instructor is very nice and patient. i am already looking forward to the next lesson on friday

It looks like your decision was right not to do the driving lesson with you father. Instead of a patient guidance countless discussion.

Unfortunately, our numbers are rising again (similarly in France if I remember correctly). my driving school has already said that if they have to close again there will still be theory lessons online (so that i can take my theory test), but i would lose a lot of practical time. It's a shame, especially because I'm about to make great progress 🙁

when we learn in an automatic car, we are only allowed to drive automatic, that is the problem. i have not yet decided whether my own car will be manual or automatic.

I drive a automatic car and I have to admit it is relaxing in the city. On the other hand I like driving a manual car as well because it it something totally different.
If you have the license for both car you can decide which one is available or cheaper if you rent one.

The driving rules in England, Japan or Australia are more different then in USA.
You drive left but in Australia is right for left?!
At the end of a street the car on the through road has the right of way.
Nice is that the traffic lights is on the opposite side of the crossing. Much better to see.

Oh I hate them. Always when I want to part a car into a small parking lot they go totally crazy and I start jelling " Just shut the f*ck up" The rear camera is great, but the acustic signals can drive you crazy!!!! The lane keeping assistand is ok, but can also get on your nerves when you drive tiny one lane roads and you need to make some place for another car heading towards you.

Just a side. While North American (USA, Canada and Mexico) rules are quite different. Different signs, no concept of main road, right turn on red, etc.

i see what you mean, yes some helps are useful and others rather annoying, but as i said before, this is my driving school's car and doesn't have to have anything to do with my future car (probably would be too expensive too)
