Ines The Swiss national sucker sorry soccer team made it to the quarter final of a major international tournament for the first time since 1954 (!).

So for them it was a great success.

And of course they are better than the French or German teams....

You have already mentioned it. France is the reigning world champion and I don't think it would make much difference if Zidane was the coach. I think it's more the curse of the defending champion. look at Germany, Spain or even Italy. all of them were rather bad in the next tournaments after winning the title.

France was already world champions in 1998,and win the Euro in 2000(but it is the only european team which have done it,so pretty rare,yes).

Didier Deschamps is not a bad coach,but I think Zidane is more energetic,one of the best player of the world,and he has done a very great job as the coach of the Real of Madrid.
