In our family it wasn't. My father not even tried to keep us away from man/boys while we where/are in school. We are still allowed to spend time with them and at least "give them a good time". It has definitely nothing to do with our grades. It's just that he doesn't want us to have control about this aspect. He strongly believes that this should be controlled by a partner but accept do go a different way after marriage.

I disagree. An university girl usually has the choice to study well or fool around. Last means waste of time and money. But grades are the best way to evaluate her results.
