It depends, but mostly I am not allowed to use any of this. Sometimes I am allowed to use some apps on my phone and of course I am always allowed to use what I need for work. But as I said, it's almost never used for punishment currently. I do much more corner times.

To me it seems like a consequence can also be of limited duration: suppose a girl wants to go out, and the parents say she is only allowed to go if she wears her chastity belt. If she refuses to wear it, the consequence is that she is not allowed to go. I wouldn't call that a punishment, but although the 'not going to that specific event' is permanent, I'd still call it a consequence with a limited duration.

I see punishment more as a subset of consequence; in other words punishments are always a consequence (of not obeying rules), while there are consequences that are not punishments, like when a positive action results in a beneficial consequence.

I would say that a punishment is a somewhat arbitrary consequence imposed for the sole purpose of discouraging misbehavior, while a non-punishment consequence results from a different objective. In your example, not allowing her to go could be an alternate means of fulfilling the objective "do not let her get into situations that could result in unwanted sexual activity", in which case it would not be a punishment, or it could be "take away her opportunity to enjoy herself with friends until she agrees to wear the belt", in which case it would.

I was referring to the ones that marry, and I suspect many of them do so at 19 or 20 to get around the prohibition on unmarried sex. I don't personally believe married women need to abstain from sex, even if the objective is not to conceive. I do realize not everyone feels this way. For example the church I grew up in and attended this morning (Friday, it's a better religious service than on the weekend) teaches otherwise.

i don't think so. they are not even necessarily the same within a country and religion also plays a role. at the registry office (where i am getting married) i don't promise anything to camryn in front of god. besides, self-written vows are now also allowed as long as you say yes in the end. 🙂
