If I remember right we had two here. One used a hacksaw to open the belt and the other (@Jen) sad no to wearing the belt after getting advice. But nobody reported they went to the authority.
@Jen is a good example how to prevent it. It will not work in every situation but I believe if you stand up for yourself it can change a lot.
The authority is like a sword that is shown but does not have to be used.
From the reports I think that many parents come to the idea with the CB and see it as a good solution to their problems. But they do not think about what consequences it can have for the family in the worst case. When the consequences are pointed out when it comes out, hopefully they start to think about it and hopefully look for a better solution. And there are almost always better solutions.
