Now I see. That's particularly mean. Because when you sit down, the chain pulls itself back with the ring in the crotch band and thus becomes shorter and pulls yout legs together. A really mean idea! Your father thought of everything to make things more difficult for you.

i would add that it makes it more difficult to pull down the thighbands if they are attached low down. i have no experience with this but maybe @Tobbe knows if i am right (if he understands what i mean)

Angelina Not too low, because then it is possible to lie on your back. Bend the thighs towards the abdomen and pull down the thigh rings over the knees. That is why the chains must be so short that it becomes impossible to do it. Approximately in the middle of the thighs is a good starting point and shorten the chains, if it is still possible to get out of the thigh rings.

yes i know that, my question was more about whether connecting the chain to the crotch shield is an effective way to prevent that? or does that have no effect? my thighbands are attached in the middle because my father suspects something exactly like that, and otherwise it is too difficult to walk.

Angelina If your thighs bands are to low, it is not more protected with the crotch chain. This chain is more to make your legs closer together and a nicer posture when sitting,

@Angelina if the manufacturer can confirm what Tobbe says, that would be a very good argument towards your father for no longer attaching the connecting chain to the bottom of your belt. (I assume your father won't take Tobbe's word for it, so you'd probably need a statement from the manufacturer.)

That's right, but it's possible to also connect the crotch chain in the middle of the thighs chain. Then it's easier to walk and stand up with the legs apart, but they must be close together when sitting!

good question, sometimes i'm not sure what others mean either. i mean the exact length of the chain, from one leg to the other.

Billy How big is this effect of having your legs pulled together? Is it just one or two centimetres of less play or more?

do you mean when i'm sitting? sorry i've never measured that, but if i'm not careful it can quickly become uncomfortable.

I'll admit I didn't read all 1400 replies but what keeps coming up is the length of the thigh band connector chain. When someone says their connector chin is 11 cm does that mean they can spread their legs 11 cm? or is the chain doubled and they can only spread their legs 5.5 cm? Or if it goes up and through the crotch plate D ring, they would even have less ability to spread their legs. Not being familiar with thigh bands I don't know.
