if our bus has 30 stops and makes 10 detours, it unfortunately takes much longer

Sara2001 If you expect public transportation to be faster then you will maybe never use public transportation if you live at the wrong place. It's not perfect everywhere but the closer you are to a big city, the better.

we live almost directly next to a highway, so it's just faster by car. we don't have to keep a fixed schedule, and we don't have to worry about missing the bus or the train 😉

Angelina my dad drives me to school and takes me about 15 minutes. by bus it would take me 45 minutes. with 2 rides it saves me one hour a day.

Public transportation can't be faster then cars if it is not an underground or fast suburban train or something. 45 minutes is not perfect, but not to bad.

@Angelina lol I had a school bus driver who would make detours into the city to get "cheeper gas" we would be like an hour late. Yeah the bus can suck. One of my friends almost lost her job because she missed an important meeting because some college kid didn't have there bus pass and didn't have money to pay but would not leave the bus and the driver would not go on. He eventually did but God damn did that make people pissed.

and that's why i only take the bus in emergencies. luckily my dad drives me most of the time and when i'm 18 i will get my driver's license and will drive myself at the latest after my wedding (if it's not possible with the tighbands) by miself 🙂

Angelina your Dan might be willing to remove them or add a longer chain to let you drive. It's worth asking. When do you turn 18 as I imagine you have some kids of driving school in Germany like in the US.

I agree it's easier to drive when I take them off, but sometime that's not practical or inconvenient, so I drive wearing them. I just have to think more about what I'm doing and be prepared for a quick or emergency stop. Compared to other things, I don't find it's a big deal.
But I totally understand those who choose to remove them for driving. Totally understand.

Yes, you are so right. No option; I've just learned to live with it. Really, I don't find it a big deal.
Recently, of course, it's been no issue. No going out. No driving. Sheltering in place.
But if I had to go somewhere it would be driving. Uber is out of the question.

I agree it is important nowadays.Even if I still don't have a driver's licence(but it is planned).

for the driving school my father will probably remove the tighbands, afterwards we will try to adjust the chain length

i managed to get my father to relax the rules for my tighbands 😃

i was a bit frustrated with my tighbands today and especially because it is very restrictive in everyday life. i will get my chain back in 10 days, but it won't get any easier

my father then suggested a deal to me how i can spend at least some time without tighbands. the rule is as follows

whenever my dad and i are together for more than 2 hours, so whenever my dad watches me, i don't have to wear tighbands. my dad said that this won't happen very often but he wants to give me this chance 🙂

if i have to leave my father during this time (toilet etc. i have to wear the tighbands again)

however, if i break any rule i will lose the privilege (no matter what rule i break)

Angelina A small profit for you, but my personal opinion is that thighbands is too restrictive for everyday life. Optionally, they can be used in bed during the night.
