Angelina One member who had joined this forum recently had a bad experience in chat with another, longer-standing member. This involved the older member, an adult male, offering to hold a young woman's keys, asking very personal questions as well as wanting a photo of her with at least parts of the belt showing. This dynamic continued even after he was informed that this woman was a 17-year-old teenager. I do not know who initiated the keyholding talks, and the questions and picture requests do seem in line with a wearer-keyholder relationship, but not with an adult talking to a minor. Of course, an adult stranger holding a minor's keys is inappropriate in and of itself, and the keyholding offer should have been retracted as soon as he found out about her age. All this started before she joined UWC, which the keyholder had pointed her to.
The wearer eventually, around the time she joined UWC, became uncomfortable with the keyholder's requests, which caused her to break off contact and request an end to the keyholding relationship that had already started. According to the information that made its way to me, the keyholder affirms he never put any pressure on her to surrender her keys, but considered the rest of it a prerequisite of a continued keyholding dynamic, since he had (IMO legitimate) concerns about the veracity of what the wearer is telling about herself.
Another member, after reading about the issue, was making a case that a community that wants to be a safe space for wearers should not allow members who have made a minor uncomfortable like that. The mod team countered that all this contact was outside of this forum and thus they had no clear evidence against the keyholder. And this is pretty much the status quo today.
