The cable is better, I confirm.
"the chains ones are the worst." I confirm also, I tried, it's the worst: when sitting, you leave marks on the seat and on your buttocks. And, for the male version, you can move the shield forward and cheat.
I dont recommend the ergo rear module from Neosteel: it pinches the buttocks when seating.

Curiously, I find that a tighter belt is more comfortable. The one I have now is very tight and is more comfortable than the others I tried by the past (ergo rear or chains). But this doesnt change the fact that we both hate our chastity belts.

I wear a rear cable style. The cable passes through the buttocks tightly. Cleaning after poo is a little difficult but it's doable. Sitting is more a problem, I cannot bend forward, or my belt touches the seat (the tube). That's why we plan to get for me a new chastity belt, tighter with a shorter tube. Then I will not touch the seat, but it will be more restrictive. Beeing erect, even a little bit, just one centimeter, will be out of question. Less restrictive or more comfortable? I prefer more comfortable.
Cable style is the best, to my mind.

Possible,as belts aren't cheap anyway...But they should know there is more or less comfortable chastity belts for deciding it.If not used to it,they can easily thinks all belts are the same,and think the first one secure is good,as the other ones won't be better in any other parts(like being comfortable or not).

I think dual covered cables spread far enough apart so that when I squat it splits to both sides of my buttocks are the best thing. I don't have to fight to wipe or anything. I wipe multiple times once over the toilet and once squatting just to the side of the toilet. And use wipes and all that.
Nothing shows or touches the chair when I sit, if my bottom were very skinny that might be a problem. Maybe @Renita is like me in that there is no way I can move to get the shield or anything to touch the chair or anything no matter how I sit... 😁

I doubt it. Even if I do not have it, I think that it would be unsafe it would not exist.
Belts are very safe, and if chain back could be a weak spot in the girl's safety, for sure we could not choose it.
Probably, you should wear it tighter than a normal belt, as my FS belt, but this way, probably is as safe as rest.

I have a similar question here to the one i had in the waist vs. hip thread. I think cable style and full rear are the most commonly worn rear configurations and I would definitely chose between those 2. Is there a difference in the amount of movement allowed in either of them. Especially when playing on the floor or sitting on a (hard) surface?

for hard surfaces i would recommend the cable style, in general rather the continuous back with hole (just my opinion)

that is also one of my reasons, another one is that i don't want to have a cable up my butt all day.

My belt has a full back strap with an anal hole. I remember originally thinking I didn't want to have to clean around a "cheese cutter cable". I didn't know anyone to ask for an opinion.

In later years I have often wondered if I chose wisely. I have learned to manage of course so I am not too anxious to change. However it may not be up to me. My partner is in the process of making a new belt for me and she is keen to try various designs. They will all be made from 3D printed plastic - which I am sure many of you think is a little laughable because it should be relatively easy to cut off, therefore less secure. I am not so sure. Certainly attempts to cut it off would be easily observable and in any case would totally defeat the purpose of why I wish to wear it.

Some of the options will include a cable design and so I may finally get to experience the "cheese cutter" design.

In the end, I don't really mind. My own desires for the belt is that it accomplishes its job in the most comfortable way possible, without causing me any harm. Easy cleaning will of course be a bonus.

Foxies Nooo, 3D printed chastity is terrible for so many reasons!

The layered plastic leaves tiny spaces in which bacteria can grow!
hard printing materials crumble (which is something you really don't want down there)
soft silicons on the other hand defeat the whole point of a chastity belt
most plastics like to decompose in wet environments, shedding tiny micro-plastic particles

It's a terrible idea all around. Epoxy is much better idea than plastic. There used to be epoxy chastity belts made by Reinholds, but sadly he's no more.

Foxies I suggest you instead 3D print a form and make the belt itself out of fiber reinforced resin poured into it.

I don't really know yet but I am hopeful. My partner had made a couple of "test" pieces, including the front shield with her 3D printer. There is nothing to hold it in place yet, but there are no sharp edges and it wouldn't need a lining. When held against me it feels pretty good. We have no need for a detachable secondary shield, instead it is built into the main shield. This means there is no "slot" for my lips to get trapped in. Instead there are just small holes for my urine to drain.

However, we suffered a house fire that started in her workshop and she lost the printer and much of her equipment. She had completed a preliminary design on her computer but we have to wait until we can move back in the house before she can get another "printer" and finish it. It is a sort of cable design though the crotch currently has an anal hole before the cable goes up my back to the waist cable.

She is hoping to also make the thigh bands from the same plastic with smooth curves so I am hoping it will all be more comfortable. I am a little worried that comments on the forum say the cable has to be very tight to be affective, which doesn't sound like much fun.
