Abby82 I've considered the lock picking but have been too afraid to get the equipment and also it would take a lot of dedication and training. And getting caught trying would mean some kind of seals for the lock.
Also would probably be easier to just quit the wearing than do the lock picking for the relief and being afraid of getting caught.

If you keep the lock picking tool outside your home you minims the risk they will find it by accident.
How difficult it will be for you you can only know when you try it. I find it not too difficult. And you should not start with your own lock. Get your experience with difference locks in different positions before trying your own.
If you live in a bigger town there could be a bridge to which couples in love have attached locks on the railing. So that's enough to practise on. Ah yes, get a can of spray oil to lubricate the locks beforehand so that they run easily.

and now something more general, even though i don't want to create a bad mood, i think it is too easy for some to imagine removing a padlock, putting it back on undamaged and leaving no traces and as has already been correctly pointed out, there is a difference between picking a padlock that is lying around and picking one that is attached to your own body.

If I recall correctly, you wear the belt as more of a "family tradition", and I don't remember reading much about you fighting or trying to cheat the belt. Do they really think you would be picking the lock on a MySteel belt? If security is their concern, I would think that the ability to add thighbands to a MySteel belt (which everyone seems to agree are very effective) would outweigh the potentially easier to pick lock (which no one seems to have actually picked)

Bryan No, they don't think she would pick the lock. As far as I understood her mother has has a vague fear she would avoid the belt even though there was no reason. She is of age and accepted the rule of wearing it all the time instead of moving out and being exempt from the CB.

I did lock picking and it is not too hard to do it. The first step is buy a tool set from amazon and start with the lock which comes with the set. After success pick other locks. If you are confidence try your own lock.

If you do it with feeling no visible marks will occur.

Well, obviously those would have to be retrofitted.
Can be done easily, but of course you would be without be, t for the time it takes and that is probably not an option.

I would always recommend ordering a belt with additional D=rings if adding sruff later is not 100% ruled out. The additional cost at time of ordering a belt is very low and then you are prepared for all eventualities.

I have seen a video where it was shown how to pick the lock of a chastity belt in around 1 minute.

Try it by yourself. Otherwise it is prejudice.

it's not like i didn't test anything, i got padlocks from the hardware store and tried to pick them. i succeeded once out of 10 times, and not without leaving traces, so i think the risk is very high.

For tubular locks you need the correct tool (sold for example at the usual Chinese sites) and with said tool it is easier to pick than single-pin picking of normal pin tumbler lock. Also you will not only pick it but decode it and thus you can make your own key for the originally locked lock.

The perception of tubular locks being more secure is just that, a perception coming from the fact that most people do not know where to even start with picking such a thing.

Any add-on that require attachment points on the waistband. Thigh bands obviously and maybe also chastity bra - if that one is worn with the chains attaching it to the belt.

6373e6b2 It is quite possible to single-pin pick tubular locks with conventional tools, it is just somewhat harder to get a tensioning tool placed.

And the no-skill impressioning that tubular picks can do is easily thwarted by varying the spring strengths of the different pins, it is just that hardly any tubular lock manufacturer bothered. The Tollyboy guy that was here a few months ago claimed that they were using some fancier, more pick-resistant tubular locks, but I have not seen any independent checks on whether that is true.

youdontknowme quite obviously single-pin picking of tubular lock is easier than with any other kind of the lock as the pins are accessible and visible. Tensioning is the issue as without the decoding tool you end up tensioning it wildly off-axis. Obviously it can be done, but the tool is cheap and widely available.
