As for the rest, you have the right idea. We need the occasional reminder that humans are apes, so we should expect behaviors common across the family to show up in us as well. That said, the environment most humans live in is so different from the one we evolved for (culturally as well as physically) that some weirdness is also to be expected.

Oh I agree. We evolved in a world where women needed men because survival depended more on being strong, being able to pursue and kill prey, till the soil, bale hay, protect women while they nurtured children. Men were born bigger and stronger than women and it was perfectly clear they were needed. Now as equal opportunity movements and labor saving devices have narrowed the need for physicality and women do not, in many cases, have to marry to get themselves laid men have to invent some kind of strategy to get and hold onto women.

Avery I was thinking of a time before even most of that when we were just another pack hunter on the African savanna and hadn't tamed fire yet. You are correct, sex differences mattered a whole lot more back then than they do now that we can build tools to do any job we would do by main strength better than any human could. However, I would say the biggest difference is the scale of our social environment. Back then, we lived in bands of about 200 people at most and you lived your entire life not only with your band but relied on each other for everything.

I think you may have this backwards.

Now that men no longer need to marry to "get laid," it is now a greater challenge for women to get and hold onto men.

Perhaps there's too many differences between our situations to settle this in terms of our own lives. I'm a 21 year old college student. No one I know is thinking of getting married.

In my world boys see a girl they think is attractive and pursue her thus making it easier for the girls to get laid. Walk into a bar and guys come to you. Latter in life people have children and the child bearing and rearing process takes a toll on the girls' looks. Meanwhile the guys work and accumulate assets. 30 year later the girls' looks have faded and they have fallen behind in their careers and, if their man is no longer with them, must now find a man to support them or struggle economically. Therefore the men now find themselves pursued. There are of course exceptions. Some young girls pursue life styles which make them unattractive even when young so they struggle to find men even then. Some young men make mistakes which hurt their later economic viability and no women will later pursue them because it is not to their advantage to land a poor man.

Right, right. And certainly it's easier for my brothers to get themselves laid than it was for my grandfather. A while back I told this story about how my grandparents came to visit over the Christmas holidays. I was home from college and immediately started calling boys I knew in high school to go running with me over vacation. My Gran was never really convinced it was proper for me to be calling these boys and then driving out to meet them even though she knew all we were going to do was run in broad daylight along public roads.

Since this new topic was introduced I have wanted to post. But I took a break from the forum until now. I am so glad that there is a place where keyholders can be acknowledged.

Being a keyholder comes with it's own set of responsibilities. While I concede that it is not physically as demanding as wearing a belt, there are psychological, emotional, logistical and many other challenges we have to face. I have two that I am responsible for @Susan and @Kate2. There is a tremendous commitment from me to make sure wearing a belt goes as easily as possible. The girls know I love them very much and am forever appreciative that they wear their belts, even if they don't always agree with my thinking.

Most keyholders, and I don't want to speak for everyone, come from a place of love. They want to protect something that they deem to be very valuable.

I hope other keyholders come forward and would share their thoughts on this topic. I would like to hear from mothers/fathers/guardians on how explain the value of chastity to their daughters.

Angelina I would hope so too Angelina. There are certainly fetish types out there and it seems like a good deal of them are on the forum. But for me, and I assume most others, including your father, we come from a place of love and caring.

he sometimes has a strange way of showing it, but i really think he does it out of love. but when i see your "career" here in the forum, i wonder if it wouldn't have been better if he had found the forum and not me, then maybe he would have got the same tips as you and some things would at least be a little better

Damien 100% agree! This is precisely why belt wearing with my nieces is completely voluntary and they are free to opt out at any time. Sure it is my preference that they wear the belts, and I think I have provided them with very compelling reasons why it is important that they do so. Ultimately it is their decision. Both are members of this forum and I encourage them to participate here, which they do.

Damien also, I in no way wish to diminish the fetish community. Since joining this group I have learned much about chastity and have come to realize that there are many reasons for belt wearing, some of which revolve around various fetishes' . My motivations are different, but that doesn't take make other reasons less valid. To each their own.
