Ines Specially since agriculture set the bases of our evolution and success.
Since we started agriculture nothing important happend to our biological evolution but our cultural evolution evolved a lot.
Ines 2 species of homo were stincted in the road, Neanderthals 28.000 year ago, and Homo Floriensis about 12.000.
Yes, and in any European you can still find 3% of Neanderthals genes. That's why Europeans in general have a thicker skin than Africans.
Ines So, our current society, maybe is not sensu strictu a biological evolution, but yes a adaptation, posibilited for our intelligence.
In this point I absolutely agree with you.
Ines For that, even our strategy ask more to the women in all related to rules and society, demonstrated that is not very bad 😂
At least for the western world that's obviously true. 🙂
Ines Well agriculture was born in Middle East about 12.500 years ago. Since Homo Sapiens Sapiens has 150.000 year, 12.500 years is significative.
It depends on when you start to count. At the end any species has 3. something billion years of evolution behind it.
The date of 150.000 years in the past is set more or less randomly and as far as I know far from unquestionable in science.
The split from the apes was millions of years ago, then any split was not a hard split but a soft split, like you can see between Sapiens and Neanderthals. Nowadays humans are a mix from both species and there is no reason to believe that it was different with Australopithecus or all the other Human species in the past.
As far as I know our brain reached it's current capacity long before we start agriculture and it biologically still optimized for living as hunter and collector. Since we started with agriculture our population growth massively but the health of the single individual decreased a lot. Only since 1 or 2 centuries we reach the age we reached before agriculture.
