Jenna She tried to solve a problem that she had been unsuccessful at doing. In what I have learned here it would have been better to get buy in first before getting Jane measured and then making a purchase.

I think the best way would have been if Jane had realized after long conversations that she had a problem, then Monica could have suggested the belt as a solution and Jane could have decided whether it would be helpful

I agree here 100%. Monica moved quickly, without gaining consent that this would be an option. However once in hand Jane used it and has been using it, and the results seem to speak for themselves.
