LPS is a better lubricant. It does not get gummy or sticky but does a good job of penetrating the pins of a lock and leaving a protective film.
Maintaining your belt
I personally clean my cage every few weeks and my belt every few days. The cage is a lot easiert to keep clean.
The issue with the locks seems to be a current one. I can't even remember how many replacement locks I already irdered from MySteel. They seem to rust aways every few days lol.
Does anyone know if theese Rustfree locks from Neosteel are compatible with MySteel belts?
Mysteel also offers golden locks (or were they silver?) Does anyone know if they last longer?
True, there is always to be found some sendiments on the devices after some time, they're a mixture of dead skin and sweat.
Sweating also is a thing... you sweat a real lot under those silicon wrapped hipsbands.

Hi Max,
I don't wear belts myself 24/7 and had no visible problems on my My-Steel locks, but with the standard brass lock on a Neosteel I already had the typical green corrosion.
Abus has two different locks, which are more resistent and potential candidates for chastity belts.
This is the Titalium series with an aluminium based body and the 75IB/* Marine series, which are still brass, but coated.
The rust free version Neosteel uses is the 75IB/30, but I've seen the 64TI/30 on some recent pictures as well.
The problem with My-Steel is that they use a very small lock and there isn't much selection on the market.
There is the Titalium 64TI/20, which can be used on My-Steel belts.
You still have to cut the lock body similar to the original Burgwächter to make it fit.
Security is also a little bit better than with the original lock, but still not great.
On the other hand, I created a lock shackle to use bigger locks, including the 75IB/30, the BabyTMLock and the 64TI/30.
The BabyLock is also Titalium based, but coated in pink or blue to be laser engraved.
You can see my adapter in use on the Chastity Babes website in their 8th december update.
There is no modification on neither the belt nor on the lock to use my lock adapter.
Sure, however, I don't know how we can exchange non public, since this is about realnames and postal addresses.
IIRC there was a way for admins to share the registration mail address.

youdontknowme It's less so about lubricating the lock but to give it a water barrier (having water on metal that produces a non-waterproof oxide layer is bad, which is why aluminium is great in rainy areas while brass is bad, but at the same time aluminium just needs a bit of gallium to turn it into a weak alloy and it's fked)

No they're completely different sizes. Fotoro from a certain adult paid video/image site showed that one of their customers made a hacked up shackle protector that fitted a regular sized (like NS) to a my-steel belt. The shackle protector design looks similar but somewhat inferior to the shackle protector found on my cocoon belt (which has a front shield that covers the shackle holes, better protecting against crowbar/edge and shimmy attacks)
IMAGE (SFW):
Context:
[Fan of website] sent [Fotoro] a few samples of his new project: improving the My-Steel padlock. As most of you will know, the standard My-Steel padlock is a small Burg-Wächter lock with a little notch taken out of the corner so it will fit onto the shackle protector. This new design features a completely new shackle protector which will accomodate a much bigger padlock, like this cute pink ABUS Baby™Lock. Much better, because it is sturdier, easier to lock on, and it looks WAY better. This new system is compatible with all My-Steel belts. !<
EDIT: Oh this is actually what @sarenx was talking about above:

Last time I've looked humans didn't sweat Galium ;-)
Such a shield wasn't a viable option for a few technical reasons.
The given Abus locks can be shimmed, that's true, but it has tighter tolerances than the Burgwächter and also as the Master in the Cocoon - don't want to write more about Master - if you know you know.
That said, the shackle reduces the available space to about 2mm for the 75IB/30 and the BabyLock.
And less than 1mm for the 64TI/30.
It is fairly difficult with the tighter tolerances and limited space - not to mention if you try it on yourself while wearing it.
None of the locks are pick proof either - it is all about making it more difficult.
All in all it is still an improvement over the tiny Burgwächter.
That said, I'm working on a sealing option, which will protect the lock from tampering.
just a few more thoughts
I would generally clean the belt once a day, i.e. at least wash it once with water. Maybe I'm the only one who has done it, but I recommend disinfecting the inside of the belt after cleaning and drying. I took a sterile microfibre cloth and put a little disinfectant on it and carefully rubbed the inside of the belt with it
sarenx i actually had a go with some prototyping ideas for jura to use because he had"no idea" how to design a security seal to adapt to his belt. Due to the fact you can't unlock the belt (at least normally) without tilting the lock to the side, i made a two piece adaptor - one stays over the front piece just over the tube and the other fits around the lock body and the security seal forces the two pieces together. To unlock you break the security seal, tilt the lock then unshoe the piece covering the lock hole then you can unlock it. The part that sits over the tube has to be fitted to be able to go over the lock lug and both pieces have to be thin enough that the lock can tilt as well as allow the lock cover to slide off. I had a mishap on the second test where i reinforced the plastic mould too much and i couldn't unlock it. Its just plastic though so i could rip it off with brute force.
Anyway Jura acted blind to the idea and kinda ghosted me or something, i haven't heard from him since July even though my belt still needs to get fixed. I didn't want to send it in blindly without second confirmation in case he moved out again since his are was very close to the flooding area when China had three major floods in a row last year.
