I happen to like the Deathly Hallows pattern. They sell this two ways: either as a totally BLANK blank, just a rectangular hunk of metal, and as a precut version for the Kink 3D lock set - I’m not even sure what that is. Anyway, since my financial situation has improved greatly over what it was at the beginning of the year, I went ahead and ordered both, and they should be arriving sometime around June 1st.

I’m not sure what exactly I would have to do to get one of these that works in my Chinese steel-cable belt (I already own two and just placed an order for a third). Maybe I should go to a machine shop instead of a locksmith.

I believe you can go to Shapeways and request a totally custom project. You have to create an account just to send them email; it’s kind of a pain.

I also find the “headless” keys attractive in their own way; if you’re going to wear something like that on an ankle bracelet, for example, you would want to have only the minimum amount of weight. And it can still function as a key when needed.

One quick search turned up this. If the page you linked is to be believed, this brand sells all their locks keyed the same, so the keys for all their locks are interchangeable.

As for what you would need to do to get one suitable for your belts, the first thing to do would be to find out what style of key they use (take the key to a locksmith or look up the lock manufacturer) and see if the jeweler will make you a blank in that specification.

I might suggest that if you want a key as a piece of jewelry, maybe treat it as a symbolic peace and don't bother with getting one that fits a lock. There is a reason we don't generally make keys out of gold and silver and it isn't just because those materials are too expensive, they are also softer than you would want and would wear out to quickly if used regularly.
