I understand why it's necessary to lock threads but I don't understand why they are locked but not cleaned up from the reason why it is locked before or hidden until it is done.

Now we have a situation where alternative facts about religion are posted here and nobody can react to them. It looks like we want these point of view here.

It's fine to say that we don't want this topic in this forum but if so, it should be removed before a thread is locked (or hidden until this is done).

Sara2001 agreed - I know I’m new here but I think it’s better to remove the posts rather than lock the whole thing. Leaving the posts up without letting people respond is very frustrating - I have a few opinions on religion! - and it does look like “this is the opinion of the site”, like the whole right/left/middle political thing, even if it isn’t.

I agree if some threads are temporarily or completely closed, but some things remain unsaid and wrong facts or impressions about other users remain without requiring clarification.
I hope we can find another solution in the future 🙂

You are totally right, but the reason is that even it is evident, delete posts or threads is a consensual decision, and rest of moderators still have not endorsed my action.
Some time ago I locked a thread about South Africa, and finally this action was revoked.
So, I can understand your opinion, but please think my action as merely preventive.

You’re very keen on editing what you see as offensive words, but not so much on offensive content.
As I said before, you’d be better off banning any political comments and threads, and deleting any that exist. What does South African ethnicity have to do with chastity? It’s just an excuse for the more unpleasant views of some people to be publicly shown. This isn’t helpful to anyone, and probably actively discourages some people.

where is the problem? there are just different opinions and world views, you have to put up with that. i think as long as someone uses polite words they can post controversial content, we should just avoid insults.
if you find a statement by Valadar offensive, then report it to @Laura or @Ines or tell him yourself. i don't always agree with his opinions either, but it is possible to discuss with him without insults.

I do not post in South African ethnicity and rarely I read any posting their. I see only that Valadar is posting his strange view and no real discussion is happen. I agree with Kaja it has no connection to chastity or similar topic and I would prefer if you would close it.
