Jen I don't plan to have broken relationship - husband will be husband forever - and I know it's not something I can completely control but I can still plan for it.
Sure, you can plan for it, but you should also plan for the alternative, which is just as likely.
Unluckily there is no foolproof way to determine if you are really right for each other, although there are a lot of things you can do and try before taking the big step that will give you a better chance. And even if you are, there is no guarantee that you will still be right for each other in 10+ years - people can develop differently and drift apart.
I think one of the bigger challenges in a marriage (or any other relationship) is when the two need to work together on an issue that means a lot to both, but they differ in opinion. While they are in love, both are probably willing to compromise, but once that period is over?
