I meant that I don't approve of @Sara2001's parents encouraging them to develop in a direction which would make it so much easier for an abusive partner to manipulate them into staying.

Parents have a responsibility to prepare their children for the dangers of the world around them.

This kind of relationship brings a great closeness and harmony. I think that this harmony is much more important and valuable then my personal independence. Living with a clear structure and the knowledge of severe consequences and consistency for failing makes it easier to maintain this harmony. I also love the concept that it is my job to make his life as good and pleasurable as possible while it is his job to make me enjoy my life, just with different tools.
