Avery there's heaps of koala crossing areas near me - lots of road signs - but I've never seen one on the road. But if you go for a bush walk you can see them

Wow. Australia is such an interesting place. And Australian chicks are in high demand here.

lol sweet, Jen and I are coming for a Chastity Chick Contiki as soon as we can escape our island prison. 😁 Not sure how popular we'd be though!

It's all about expectations. Make sure to come when our unis are in session (not your winter).

Joh Melbourne to Sydney is around 1000km and from West to East around 4500km.

Oh, that's really a long distance. For 1k km I usually need about a day (ok, I do a lot of sightseeing), so let's say about 2k km for 24h (a real lot for one day) ... means that you have to sleep one night in the car if you want to drive from east to west.... when slowing down at bushes you would have to sleep one more time in the car.

youdontknowme eally all depends on how much empty space your country has.

then i don't need to hope for any relief in germany, the number one bureaucratic country. 😂

Sin we also have a lot of forests, but we just build fences that get checked on regularly. We have a smart traffic control system, a tower where cameras and sensors show at what place did happen an accident or when there's a traffic jam so that they can limit the speed and slowly slow traffic down when there's something ahead. We also have long acceleration lanes to bring the cars to the usual speed before entering the autobahn itself ... and to slow cars down when leaving the autobahn without slowing the whole traffic down. As well as special laws, like the obligation to always drive on the very right lane except when overtaking someone, as well as that you are only allowed to overtake on the left side. We also have very straight and plain lines and wide and easily visible curves... that all makes it safe to drive at high speed. A lot safer as on most roads in most of the countries in the world... only the Autobahn systems in foreign countries with tolls are safer ... because hardly anyone drives there due to the fee.

Max9 Oh, that's really a long distance. For 1k km I usually need about a day

You need around 10 hours for the 1000km with only short breaks. Than you are done with driving for this day.
I stayed one night in a motel instead of driving through.
For east to west you need much more days. I expect min 7 days. Normally you would fly.

Max9 we have similar technology on our freeways (limited speed though). The problem is when you get out into the country, the distances are just too vast to fence. And kangaroos can jump! We would need BIG fences to be roo-proof.

To put things in perspective... if you and I left home at the same time and drove at 110km/h for 24 hours, I would still be on the same road in the same state. You would reach Istanbul!

            Joh

            Surprising!

It would be useful,at least for the basis of driving...
