Parental Authority was and is a recurring theme on this forum, especially the case of parental authority being exercised over those who are over the legal age of majority.
It is of course possible to have a conservatorship in which none of the conservators is a parent or relative.

If you are in a conservatorship, you also cannot hire your own attorney to help you get out.
