¡Cielos!
It is raining so hard that I almost was scary while I was running.
The wind is blowing extremely strong.
Down trees in the path.
Winter has come and just in my free days. 😓

Ines Its winter for me too, a lovely 27 everyday now.
Can hit around 10 now and then, but that's not very often.

Your country needed rain quite badly, though. In the South, the reservoirs were empty.

Well, we have a huge ammount of damms. So it is logical that when we have some lack of rain, the percentage of reserve is low, but the ammount of cubical hectometres is high.
In the North we do not have problems at all, problems are in South East, it has dry weather and a lot of agriculture.

I know that the olive oil price has gone up. I was shocked when I went to the store.

Sunflower oil has rocketed its price due the Ukrainian War, so a lot of people started to buy olive oil.
Non related to production, current oil is the olive of past season so not affected for the "drought". Moreover: 2012 we had a smaller production than the spected for this season, and the prices were stable.

As you can see, everyone here has become into a expert in oil, because it is really expensive.

the last few days have been very windy here too, it seems as if there has been a storm over many parts of europe

Sasha 27°C is nice temperature. We have 4°C at the moment but luckily no rain.
Worst weather is around 0°C and high humidity. I'm always cold and freezing.

Avery The New England Patriots American football team played their first pre-season (practice) game tonight 10/8. On the broadcast they spent a short time with Sebastian Vollmer and Markus Kuhn who were broadcasting the game back to Germany (would have been 1-4 AM, I guess). Vollmer played for the Patriots, Kuhn the New York Giants and was the first German born player to score a touchdown (on a fumble recovery) in the NFL (National Football League, the American pro league).

It was fun listening to them. Lots of terms, e.g. cornerback, are said just as in English. They showed a pass interception and you could hear them say "ein pick", pick being American slang for the play. They showed pictures of the Frankfurt stadium where the Pats (Patriots) will play on Nov. 12.

Responding to my own posting, tomorrow is the game in Frankfurt. The TV broadcast starts at 9:30AM in Boston so it works perfectly. Usually people start watching American football here at 1PM, so tomorrow we can start 3 1/2 hours earlier and get in an extra game. For some reason this whole thing fascinates me. I hope they play some of the commentary from the German announcers. As I mentioned before Sebastian Vollmer played in New England and he was very good about talking about American football interest in Germany. Too bad we have a crummy team. We used to be so good it was much more fun to watch.

I assume most on here have heard about Martha McSally, jet fighter pilot, Representative, and Senator being sexually assaulted while out for a run. It was groping with no penetration so a belt would not have helped. She did fight him off and chased him. He is now in jail.

Sorry it happened (again) to a great lady but glad he was caught.

Yesterday I was watching a terror movie.
A unknown barbaric troglodyte tribe kidnap some civilians in the town and the sheriff goes to rescue them.
In a scene the protagonist goes in front of 2-3 troglodyte women with the legs and arms mutilated and with small stakes of wood in their eyes.
Frankly, I am not a soft woman, but it was one of the most terrible scene that I have seen ever.
