How did your parents first think of the idea of "chastity belt"?
Actually it is not an object that you find everywhere in everyday life.
Indeed, usually many do not even know that they exist.
So when/how did they think about it?

Welcome back!
strictfather How did your parents first think of the idea of "chastity belt"?
Well it was the family tradition, because my mom had to wear one
My parents never thought of the belt, though they probably would have if they could. But they got the idea that masturbation was an abomination to be prevented AT ALL COSTS from the Roman Catholic Church, which still teaches parents and kids that lie to this day.
My mother wears a belt as long as I can think, in our family it was clear from the very beginning that my sister and I have to wear the belt until marriage, too.
[deleted] Did your grandmothers or great grandmothers wear them as well or was it started more recently?
My mother was the first woman in my family. There is no old tradition in our family, my parents decided to switch to this after their marriage was in danger. Now they are the happiness couple I can imagine (beside myself). That's one of the main reasons why I am in general looking forward to a life like that.
strictfather Indeed, usually many do not even know that they exist.
Exactly. My mom didn't know they existed and then immediately took this opportunity although it was a bit late.
Valadar It works for her but most assuredly not every woman. I’m happy being submissive to my wife, and I could not imagine being kept chaste by a man.
And, okay, since I’m a trans woman, there are those who do not consider me indicative of women’s experiences. In that case, you can rest assured my wife would never submit to being locked up by or submissive to ANYONE.
but sure, it does happen for some women, though I wonder if it’s just socialized into them. My mother-in-law is a woman of strong personality but obedient to her husband, and admitted that if they’d been widely available when she was much younger, she would have accepted the belt if he’d asked or required it if her.
Not sure;I guess they find it while trying to know how to prevent me to masturbate or have sex.
Saintprudence It works for her but most assuredly not every woman.
I agree,I don't think I would like it too.Even if I would probably try it a bit.
welcome back to the forum
to your question, my father was looking for ways to prevent sexual pleasure and found the idea of a chastity belt on the internet
i am the first and hopefully the only one in my family in the future
Saintprudence abomination to be prevented AT ALL COSTS from the Roman Catholic Church, which still teaches parents and kids that lie to this day.
Well, I also am a practicing Roman Catholic but I've never heard that my Church would sibscribe to this believe. Maybe in Europe that's a bit different. I mean sure, abortion is murder - without question - but masturbation? Why should that be prohibited?
Max9 Allow me to quote directly from the rule book, aka the catechism of the Catholic Church, section three, part two, article six, entry 2352.
“By masturbation is to be understood the deliberate stimulation of the genital organs in order to derive sexual pleasure. "Both the Magisterium of the Church, in the course of a constant tradition, and the moral sense of the faithful have been in no doubt and have firmly maintained that masturbation is an intrinsically and gravely disordered action." “The deliberate use of the sexual faculty, for whatever reason, outside of marriage is essentially contrary to its purpose." For here sexual pleasure is sought outside of "the sexual relationship which is demanded by the moral order and in which the total meaning of mutual self-giving and human procreation in the context of true love is achieved."”
Max9 for the record, I’m American . Also, a lot of progressive Catholic parishes these days tend to downplay this rule as a bit archaic. My parish in the 1970s and 1980s was not one of them. And the rule remains on the books.
Max9 I’m very curious what the answer of your priest would be if you directly asked about masturbation. Most don’t bring it up. Even my instruction primarily came from my parents.
....
Well, I am amazing.
Only sense of sexual pleasure is bring babies to the world. For that, sexual relationship with preservative, masturbation etc are a sin.
Are you Catholic truly?
Ines I haven't been a practicing catholic in 20 years, but I'm still pretty familiar with the thinking. The rules don't change much in the Catholic ways!
