Risk = probability x consequence. So a big probability with small consequences might be as useful to avoid as a small probability that will have big consequences. You had better try to avoid something that has a 0.1% of you dying, while something with a 10% chance of getting an abrasion would be acceptable. So you need to weigh both to make an informed decision if something is worth the risk.

(about doing yoga with or without belt) Yes, I can see that. With yoga you try to reach inner peace and tranquility, and being belted is probably not beneficial to those goals. Unless of course you are deliberately looking for a challenge. Like I've heard pain is a useful meditation subject (although not very much embraced in the western world, but with fakirs...).
