Angelina i was a bit confused because you wrote
carg so I guess the physical limitations of a belt will be the most relevant limiting factor.
I meant to say that, because I concluded that the mental part was apparently not so much of an issue when practicing yoga, only the physical limitations are sufficient reason to practice it without a belt on.
Angelina I had to look three times to see what you meant
(about: risk = probability x consequence)
Sorry, this was part of my courses about statistics and stochastics, so perhaps it sounded a bit like a lecture.
And to continue the lecture: that formula is only about a single occurrence. If you are taking a certain risk regularly, the formula becomes risk = probability x consequence x frequency. 😛
For example: Suppose you cross an intersection every day when you leave home, and again when you come back. It is in a quiet neighborhood, and while you slowed down the first few times, gradually you have 'learned' that nothing comes from the other directions, and you no longer slow down enough to stop in time. Let's say that in 0.1% of the cases there is coming something from the other direction that you won't be able to avoid. A very small chance, but since you take that chance 2 times a day, or 730 times a year, you can expect to be in a collision once every 1.5 years.
(Purely hypothetical; I'm sure you always have your full attention at the traffic around you, and are even careful in quiet neighborhoods. Especially since being in a collision might pose extra consequences when wearing metal underwear, like gwen (?) pointed out recently.)
