And on a very practical level, at that stage the dependency of the wearer on the parents is getting less and less, while gradually the parents will start needing their children's help more and more, as they get older. So they are risking that too.

Yes, undoubtedly. But emotions calm down after a while, so even if they cause a temporary falling-out, the parents will start to realize what they have done, and could well try to reconnect.

Even with big consequences, you have to weigh it against the benefit you gain by taking the risk. And I think for a forced wearer to be free of the belt, the benefit is substantial.
It will still be hard to decide what is better though, since you can't quantify the consequences (= give them a numeric value), and the probability will be hard to estimate too, so it will in the end be mostly down to intuition and feeling. (Although thinking about the probability, consequence and benefit will still help some.)

I agree, but the question remains whether it is worth it. @Vanessa will surely get married one day, just like me, and the question is whether a long-lasting fight with our parents is worth it.

Angelina you are right and i don't expect a permanent break off of contact but i know that my father would be very disappointed and angry and especially in my case my professional future is involved and yes the advantages of working with my father and taking over his company (he is self-employed so not a real company) are enormous.

I am convinced of the benefits of wearing a belt, but even if this is so, it is clear that no parent can force a girl to wear one.
When you talk about damaging the relationship, I think you are wrong about the active subject, in my house, for example, it has always been borne in mind that my sister does not want her belt does not harm the family, however, if my parents had forced her, (something that I see impossible in our social environment), that would have destroyed the happiness of the family.
I can understand that there may be more stubborn parents or that they feel deeply disappointed by a refusal, but, for me, it is inconceivable that parents "abandon" their daughter because of it.

Yes, but if some parents love the belt more than their daughter, they are sick, without euphemisms.

it is sanctioned because i did not respect his rules and wishes. i am also supposed to take over a part of his values with his companies. the belt has nothing to do with the profession, but the financial advantages i have by taking over his company, he only gives me if i respect his rules and values.
